Imagine faster than the Flash

Scientists from IBM, Macronix and Qimonda have created a type of memory that promises to about 500 times faster than today’s Flash Memory Drive. What’s even more exciting is that, it will consume only half the power and smaller than the present flash drives.

But hey, don’t throw away your existing flash drives right away! Because this technology is still in pipeline and will take a while to hit the commercial market.

The technology used in these upcoming flash drives is known as the Phase Change Memory. The master material that enables all these technologies is a germanium antimony alloy that researchers have spiced up with a special concoction of additional elements to deliver all to these properties.

Wow, at last the 7th adventure of Harry Potter – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is in the pipeline of its grant release! J.K Rowling, the all time famous author of master series has revealed that the 7th Harry Potter series will be released on July 21. The world is more than just excited to receive this release as it will wrap up the adventure of Harry Potter and this is going to be the last episode of master series.

The 7th Harry Potter Book is expected to hit the market with a cover price of $34.99. Though not yet revealed, this Harry Potter Book 7 is expected to contain more than 600 pages of adventurous contents. Just as a note, copies of Harry Potter books are sold worldwide in hundreds of millions. The final release in the series, the Harry Potter 7th book is expected to even grasp a much larger audience.

Meanwhile, the latest Harry Potter file in the line, the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been scheduled to be release in UK on 13 July 2007. Many shops and retailers would open very early and offer doorbuster deals to attract more people to their stores.

With the increase in popularity of internet shopping among the people, we now have Black Friday Online. The deals are made available through the internet and many Black Friday items are listed.

It was Solar Cell… now it is Solar Bacteria!

It was solar cell which was making the buzz. Now scientists have come up with Solar Bacteria. A group of scientists from University of Tokyo have discovered ways to fabricate extremely small tubes, just 16 nanometers in diameter which behaves a lot like the light harvesting antennae of photosynthetic bacteria.

These nano tubes are operationally similar to the panels used on satellites. They are fabricated using special compounds that react with photons received from the sun and release electrons which can be harvested as an electric current.

The present nano tubes can generate electricity which is far less than the level used in practical purposes but scientists are determined to develop them to an extent when the electricity produced by them can be used for driving nano robots and micro machines.
